ACCIONA AIRPORT SERVICES currently counts with an environmental management system implemented and certified according to ISO 14001:2004 regulation and so it is framed within the sustainability principle defined by the Acciona group.

Besides the quality management system, ACCIONA Airport Services has been a pioneer in the certification of a system which guarantees the protection and minimization of the environmental impact of the activities that it performs. It has been the first handling agent to obtain an external certification of this type, thanks to the integration of both systems, quality management and environmental management, under a common policy.

The environmental management system is based on the identification and evaluation of all those aspects which may interact with the environment, derived from both the in-house activities and those subcontracted. The identification procedure of the external regulation and legislation applicable to these environmental aspects allow the implementation of an accurate operational control in this matter.

Additionally, an environmental indicator system makes it possible to evaluate the environmental behaviour of the company, implementing measures in order to optimize the waste production and use good environmental practices focused on the optimization of the resources used.

In order to achieve this, the European, national, regional and local level legislative nature environmental requirements are taken into account at each one of the airports where the service is provided, besides other requirements of external nature coming from customers, airport authorities and final users.
